Important information about the cafeteria/lunches: Students will NOT be able to use the microwaves at school this year. There will also be limited a la carte items (extras). Lunches will be prepackaged for sanitary reasons.
Remote learning information
All stream TORs, Encores, and Gifted Elective will utilizing Google Classrooms. Please have your students check their school email regularly.

Absences and Check ins & outs - If you are absent, please fill out an Absence Verification Form. Email the form and pictures of any doctors' notes to Mrs. Schang at mschang@ecsdfl.us. If you are checking a student in or out, you will need to email Mrs. Schang with the date, time, and doctors' note.
Civics for 7th Graders - 7th grade remote students have Civics workbooks and handouts available in the front office. Students should see their Civics Google Classroom for more information.
Civics for 7th graders
The BBMS Civics program (7th graders only) kicked off on Tuesday, January 5. All traditional 7th graders, remote and traditional, should have attended a session to introduce the program.
Workbooks and handouts for remote students are available in the front office for pick up.

Basketball tryouts
Monday, March 1 - Boys, Grades 7/8 only, 3:30-5:00
Tuesday, March 2 - Boys, Grades 6/7 only, 3:30-5:00
Thursday, March 4 - Girls, Grades 6/7/8, 3:30-4:30
All tryouts will be held in the BBMS Gym. Bring a water bottle and wear basketball shoes. Basketballs will be provided; do not bring one to school.
Our first games will be Thursday, March 25. A complete schedule will be posted soon.

Take Stock in children
Applications for eligible 6th and 7th grade students are available from Guidance. For more information and to see if your students qualifies, please visit their website here.
Take Stock in Children is a scholarship and mentorship program operating under the Escambia County Public Schools Foundation. Students selected to participate are matched with a mentor and agree to maintain satisfactory grades, attendance, citizenship, and remain drug/crime free. At graduation, students receive a 4-year Florida college tuition scholarship.
Students who completed an application in November do not need to apply again.

All student athletes must have a current physical (within the last calendar year) on file in the front office.
All other forms are now completed online. Please see the directions and go to the Athletic Clearance website to complete your registration.
Students involved in non-athletic clubs or activities will still use this website to complete the drug screening consent requirement.

FOCUS parent portal info
The ECSD Information Technology Department has created a series of instructional videos to assist parents in accessing and learning the new features and settings available in the Focus™ Parent Portal Account program. The videos offered at this link include:

3. FOCUS™ for Parents - Version 10 Updates
There are also written instructions available: Focus™ Parent Portal: Create a New Online Account. Parents signing up for the first time will want to gather some necessary information (the list is also available on this page).
Parents will need to know:
1. A valid email address
2. Your child’s date of birth
3. Your child’s 6-digit ECSD student ID number
4. The last four digits of your child’s Social Security Number
A Parent Portal Account will also allow parents of multiple school-aged children to navigate from one child’s information page to another, without having to log out in-between.
ECSD Families App
Once parents have established their Focus™ Parent Portal account and password, they can also access their child’s information by using a mobile device and downloading the ECSD Families App. This free app is available in the Apple App Store, or on the Google Play store for Android phones. The icon graphic is an apple wearing a graduation cap.
Military and Family life counseling available
Video Teleconferencing Services are now available and being provided by our Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC) for BB Middle School. All Video Teleconferencing Services are HIPAA compliant, secure and confidential through Google Meets.

**Telephonic services are available for adults.
Fun interactive interaction with emphasis on socialization and developing positive coping skills to handle daily life events and issues. A great way to promote connections and maintain existing connections. Can be provided in group and individual platforms.
